I don't normally do this, but after 30 minutes, I was bored to death, and shut it off. That's the total amount of action in the first half-hour of this picture.
The train stops and a man and a woman get off (Is it the same girl we just saw? Who knows? The picture is so dark you can't see anything.) They have a fight, he murders her, and places her body on the back of the train. He knows that a dangerous curve is ahead, even though he's never been on this train before. The old man, meanwhile, can tell you the exact time without looking at a watch.
The girl is complaining that her husband never wants to leave their compartment.
